Winter Work
2/24/2020

02/24/20

We are not going to talk about 2019. We are on to 2020! And things are already getting interesting in this new decade, like for first time in seven years multiple roster spots are open on the Grays – and in demand. In the next coming weeks the pups will be holding tryouts and talking to players to fill out those four coveted spots. What’s the rush? Well, there is only a month before our first “Simulation” game and from there on out it’s Spring Training ball. The schedule should be released soon including information on the Third Annual Castle Classic.

A handful of Wolves have been active in the TCMABL Winter Hitting League and are currently tied for second place with the Coyotes. The same plague that affected the den last season is also cursing the Winter League – the ever frightful LOB. Left. On. Base. Although the Grays top the league in hits, they are third in runs scored. Ugh.

Other Wolves are using the winter to get some work in with different workout and diet programs to much success. Michael Crane and Patrick Hanlon have been inspirational in their new Instagram bodies.

Roy Hobbs will also expand to ten teams and separate into two divisions. It’s easy to say with confidence it will be the most competitive this league has been since its inception.

And to add to the fun, longtime wolf Michael Shanor is getting married on May 16th at Target Field – the night before the TCMABL Opening Day. That first inning or game could be a rough one with Champagne hangovers and ears ringing from bad wedding reception music.

No matter 2020 will bring on new stories and hopefully with a happy ending. Ha.
