Sand to Snow
1/7/2023

Ok. So Arizona didn't go so well. The Grays annual trip to the MSBL 35+ World Series was a step backwards, losing to the Seattle Ravens in the First Round. But overall the Grays did have some great moments; Dan Skog's daily web gems, the great pitching from Alex Gonzalez, Bub Lovas and Jack Nelson and meeting new people like Curtis Ellison, Jeff Heuer, Nick Larson and Jon Klapperich. No matter the record it's always a good time to play some extra ball in a vacation destination with your friends.

Speaking of vacations, a newly retired Jon Widerski is enjoying his last days of baseball in Fort Myers this week at the Twins Fantasy Camp. Rumor was he was a first round pick for Juan Rincón club and is excited to start his last week of baseball. Also started this week was the Hit Trax Winter Hit Club League, Michael Weyracuh's Grays B-Team with team members Mark Von Ruden, Matt Carter and Dustin Rode. The season runs all winter and ends in April, great time to get some extra swings in while we are still neck high in snow. Others are doing personal workouts just getting set for team practices that will probably start up in February.

The Federal League Winter Meeting is soon and the Grays might be welcoming some new teams to the division - all depending on 3/4 league vote. If passed the new division will be more competitive than the current West and would be renamed North. Other highlights that the Grays might be hosting the 2023 All-Star Game/Hall of Fame Day this summer. More information and confirmation will be made next month.

2023 should be a big season for the Wolves as Back to Back Divisional Champs and an AAA Runner-Up, let's see if they can finally get that Championship in the teams 14th year. Go Grays!
